Damascus
Steel Casting Company
was established in 1906 to provide manganese grade steel castings
for wear resistant applications. During the 1940's it began to
produce tooling for seamless tube mills, and developed an expertise
in manufacturing guide shoes, plugs and piercer points.
In 1993, under
new ownership, and with the addition of technical and marketing
resources, the Company broadened its base in terms of new materials,
markets and product specialties. Heat resistant, carbon steel
and modified stainless grades were added to serve the heat treating,
power, chemical and various process industries. At the same time,
wear resistant applications were extended in the power, rail,
material handling, crushing and mining industries.
The overall
quality program was enhanced by the 1997 addition of a totally
computerized 29 channel spectrometer. Quality, productivity and
flexibility were greatly strengthened with the introduction of
cross-trained work teams.
Continuing customer
focused product and materials
development has provided Damascus customers with
specific solutions to their unique operating problems.
Most recently an exclusive patented alloy demonstrated
significantly longer life and superior operating
performance.
Today, Damascus Steel serves the coal, aggregate,
cement, power generation, refractory, construction
and asphalt markets. It also remains the leading
tooling supplier to the domestic seamless tube
industry. This rich history, plus a record of materials
innovation, makes Damascus Steel the smart choice
as your casting partner.
